A couple days back we started to look at our next Content Area: Early Europe and the Colonial Americas.
We covered the basic introduction to the Content Area, and brief introduction to Christianity (since so many of the works in this set relate to Christianity), and begun looking at our first artworks: Late Antique, Medieval, and Byzantine Art. Oh, we've also started to look at some churches. It would be good if you read through the Elements of Architecture slideshow regarding longitudinal and central plan churches. We finished up the ninja turtles today. For your assignment: complete box notes for each of the works from Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael (Last Supper, Sistine Chapel ceiling and altar wall, School of Athens). Then, choose one of those works and also complete a snapshot. Focus on writing your snapshot "notes" in essay format, specifically, a 15 minute FRQ format. You can find the templates in the "Resources" tab.
We finished up with Michelangelo today. We'll continue with Raphael tomorrow as we keep working through the Italian Renaissance.
Continued working through our Italian Renaissance slideshow. Covered Leonardo and began looking at Michelangelo.
